The Cuisinart TOB-260 convection toaster oven was rated highly in our best convection toaster oven reviews.  With a 4.7 out of 5 this toaster oven is a force to be reckoned with great features and comparable price to the number one rated Breville toaster oven.

Here is our unbiased review of the Cuisinart TOB-260 chef convection toaster oven.

Cuisinart Chef Convection Toaster Oven Design

The design of the oven is very solid with stainless steel exterior and interior.  The design is very similar to the Breville with light blue LCD screen and stainless knobs.  Overall wouldn't mind seeing sitting on my counter-top in any kitchen.

Toaster Oven Features

Advanced Heating and Cooking Technology

The exact heat sensor with the 5 quartz heating elements, insures perfect results every time and can adjust the temperature for any programmed cycle.

Large Capacity

With almost a full cubic foot interior fitting 9 slices of toast, a 13" pizza or a 9" x 13" pan is no problem.  This toaster oven also ships with two baking racks for the capability of cooking multiple items at once.

Two Convection Settings

  • Regular Convection is able to be added at anytime to any cycle with a push of a button
  • Speed Convection allows to cook without preheating.  This also is just activated with a push of a button.

Non-Stick Interior with Interior Light

Easy cleaning with the non-stick interior.  A very nice feature is the interior light to check your progress in the baking or broiling cycles.  Can't express enough on how much I would enjoy a light in my toaster oven.

Add 30 Second Button

Cuisinart TOB-260 Controls

Cuisinart TOB-260 Controls

Great feature to have especially during toast or bagel operation to just get a little more color.  Also, great for reheating leftovers as you won't have heat loss when you can use the oven light to see if you need just a little more time.

Cooking Modes

With the ability to do up to 9 pieces of toast, the Cuisinart does a great job.  With even heat coming from top and bottom to give the perfect toast each and every time.  Will be given choice when first selecting this option if bread is fresh or frozen.

Comparable to the toast function this will give higher heat up top then down below.  Again, will be given choice if fresh or frozen.  Just like with toast, the add 30sec button comes in handy here.

Similar to the toast function, with the exception of the frozen selection is automatically selected.

Great for delicate items like egg dishes and custard with the ability to add convection for multiple tiered baking or extra browning for breads and meats.  The temperature zone for this cycle is anywhere between 150°F and 450°F.

With only one setting on the broil was one of this ovens set backs.  Default temperature is 500°F with no ability to adjust.  Not a huge drawback but will cause you to be checking on your food more often to prevent burning.

More for meats and veggies,  but not just limited to those.  Can use the Speed Convection option here to eliminate any preheat times which was a nice feature and turned out to produce good results.  Can roast anywhere between 150°F and 450°F.

Fitting a 13" pizza is no problem and with the ability to cook two at the same time is even better!  For best results preheat the provided baking stone for the pizza.  Ability to choose frozen or fresh and the temperature selection is 350°F - 450°F.

This is a great function for open faced sandwiches.  The upper element is at half power to melt and brown any cheese, and the bottom is on full power to crisp and brown the bread.  Select from 150° to 450°F.

Keep Warm

150°F to 300°F is the perfect temperature to hold any food items while other items finish cooking or waiting for the kiddos to get home.

We had a hard time to discern the difference between the bake cycle and this.  Only thing that seemed different was the preset time of the cycle.

Cuisinart TOB-260 Warranty

Cuisinart offers a 3 year warranty out of box which is appealing to allot of people.  I've witnessed many customers who previously had a Breville switch to the Cuisinart for this purpose alone, as a few of the Breville toaster ovens only lasted a couple years.

Overall this Cuisinart TOB-260 did well in reviews and performs well.  It does have a little less features and control compared to the Breville BOV800XL or the Wolf Gourmet WGCO100S but still stood high in our ratings.
